This proposed design for the new PWC Nigeria Head Office in Lagos is a thoughtful response to the evolving nature of the modern workplace, one that prioritizes functionality, adaptability, and user well-being, while subtly reflecting the strength and identity of the PwC brand. Our concept focuses on creating a highly efficient, open, and collaborative environment that fosters productivity and flexibility. The office layout supports various working styles from focused individual tasks to open teamwork and private meetings, all integrated seamlessly across the floors.
Rather than treating circulation zones as mere passageways, the design transforms them into active, connective spaces that enhance the overall user experience. These areas are wide, open, and bright — with thoughtful lighting, integrated seating nooks, greenery, and carefully placed branding elements. They encourage informal meetings, spontaneous interactions, and moments of pause, promoting a sense of connection throughout the office.
The open office zones are designed to be flexible and versatile. Modular furniture systems allow teams to reconfigure their areas as needs change. Desking areas are complemented by quiet focus zones for individual concentration and semi-open collaborative spaces for team discussions. The use of glass partitions and transparent materials maintains visual openness while controlling acoustics, ensuring a balance between interaction and focus.
Private offices, meeting rooms, and enclosed work zones are designed with acoustic performance and visual comfort in mind. Meeting rooms feature integrated technology for seamless connectivity, while enclosed offices are modestly sized to ensure efficiency without sacrificing comfort. The overall aesthetic remains consistent — warm neutral tones, clean lines, and subtle wood finishes that tie into the PwC brand palette.
Key areas such as training rooms, lounges, and event spaces are designed for adaptability. These spaces feature operable partitions and modular furniture, making it possible to shift from a large group setting to smaller breakout areas effortlessly. Storage has been smartly integrated to maintain cleanliness and organization, allowing these rooms to serve multiple functions without clutter. Support areas such as the kitchen, restrooms, storage rooms, and service zones are planned with efficiency and comfort in mind. The kitchen doubles as a social hub, inviting casual conversations and offering a relaxing break environment. Finishes here remain consistent with the main office — durable, easy-to-maintain materials with a warm and understated aesthetic. Sustainability principles quietly but firmly underpin the proposal: exposed ceilings reveal honest materials and maximize vertical space and airflow; responsible finishes reflect the PwC brand ethos; and biophilic touches bring nature indoors, reminding
all who enter that well-being and performance flourish side by side. In line with this vision, a similar design approach tailored to a smaller scale and local context has also been thoughtfully proposed for PwC Nigeria’s Abuja office, ensuring coherence and continuity across their national presence while responding sensitively to the unique needs of each location.
