STRICHLAND LAW PRACTICE, GRA Ikeja, Lagos

Designing a workspace for a law firm requires a careful balance between
professionalism, functionality, and a strong sense of identity. This was the primary objective for us at DHK when commissioned to transform a residential duplex into the Strichland Office. The layout was reimagined to support the operational needs of the firm through targeted structural changes, better circulation and the introduction of clear work
zones across floors. Every space was designed to reflect the firm’s core values: structure, clarity, and trust.

A strong visual language runs through the office with the firm’s brand colours against a calm, neutral base. This allows key areas to stand out without overwhelming the workspace, reinforcing the sense of order that defines legal practice. We introduced warmth through custom woodwork, selecting high-quality HDF and Egger wood for a premium finish. This craftsmanship is most visible in the fully shelved library which is a centerpiece designed as a symbolic statement of the firm’s deep legal knowledge and continuity.
This commitment to quality extends to the most functional corners of the building. In the main work areas, we prioritized long-term comfort with high-quality workstation
tables and ergonomic chairs, ensuring the team remains supported during intensive research and litigation.

Custom ceiling designs and lighting are defining features of this project. By using varied ceiling planes and tailored recessed lighting, we created architectural cues that
naturally define different zones. These details help visitors and staff navigate the office easily. The CEO’s office and executive rooms also carry a distinct presence through refined finishes. While the Boardroom stands as the main hub for big decisions, with a structured layout and subdued lighting that keeps meetings formal yet comfortable. One of the most significant aspects of the Strichland project was our commitment to
creating an inclusive workspace for working moms. We integrated a dedicated nursing room with particular care for comfort and privacy, this addition serves as a vital resource for all modern professionals within the firm

This focus on well-being is further supported by the cafeteria and informal breakout spots, woven into the layout so the team can recharge without losing momentum.
